The electrical system is much like a automotive 12 volt system. The main component is the deep cycle battery. I ran heavy gage wire to the switch box where I used a 40 amp circuit breaker for the whole system. Each line runs off one of the fused switches in the switch box. This is the "Hot" side of each circuit. The "Ground" side returns to the negitive battery terminal. I installed the MinnKota plug on the motor and a female plug on the lazerette. This wire also needs to be heavy gage.  The wiring is attached to the boat with nylon clips. Except for connections to various components, all wiring was done behind the switch box with crimp on terminals and then I shrink wrapped these.  I recharge the system directly to the battery when I return home with a deep cycle charger. I have also added a cigarette lighter plug for an auxilary output.
