~ 08 / 99 The sides were stitched to the bottom.  The deck and bulkheads were removed. The sides were glued, and taped to the bottom.

Sorry, my camera was in the repair shop so I didn't get any pictures except this polaroid.

There was one major problem with the sides.  The plans call for ruff cut panels to be attached to the keel / bottom / deck structure. The deck and bulkheads I decided to attach after the sides, since it would be easier to fillet and tape the sides to the bottom without their getting in the way. The sides I had previously scarfed and glassed in one long piece.

The problem was that I missed in the plans (I think it is only mentioned briefly in the video) that the 2 panels need to be attached at an unspecified angle to be determined when fitting the sides.  That's what I get for planning to far ahead and for trying something totally different.

After a few weeks of fretting, my solution was to cut a long triangle off the top of the aft panel and tape/butt joint it to the bottom of the panel.  It actually made a great joint & you can hardly tell what's happened.
