Scarfing: cutting parts on an angle
of 1:8, to allow joining parts to make longer than the manufactured size.
This is 2 sheets of 1/2 plywood (for the bottom) stacked to allow cutting.

drawing. I used a hand plane and belt sander until I got a power
planner. |

Gluing the scarf joint for 1/4" sides
with epoxy. I used a layer of waxed paper and screwed thru to scrap
wood on both sides. |
