The rafters are laminated out of 2 4/4
pieces of mahogany. I plan to build all the 2" pieces for the boat
in the same manner. This allows the rafters to be close to 2" instead
of 1 1/2". (A little added strength) |

The support blocks for the rafters were
laminated together and glued in place. The rafters and gussets were
added. The stringers were shaped and glued in high enough to allow planing
into the shape of the roof curve to allow for a good gluing surface. |

The exposed surface of the rafters gussets
and stringers were epoxied. |
