The chine was taped earlier. I got
nervous about the keel. Since it was made of poplar (a fairly soft
wood) I only had 1 layer of 6 oz cloth on it, I decided to put the 24 oz
tape on the bottom of the keel where it would protect the keel from most
contacts. |

I coated the bottom with a graphite/epoxy
combination. This may be my craziest step. I was talked into
it by my driftboat friends who swear by it. |
