09 / 04 / 01 When I realized I needed a motor for emergencies I decided to add a complete electrical system to power the trolling motor I got. It has been suggested that more weight in the forpeak can make the boat ride a bit better, so I decided to put the battery up there.
09 / 04 / 01 A switch box was added in the cabin to have a master switch for the battery and control the cabin lights, and running lights. This box will allow for quite a bit of expansion. I found that I needed about 40 amps for the trolling motor and could not easily get fuses this size. I installed a 40 amp circuit breaker above the switch box.
09 / 22 / 01 The motor mount is removable and holds the motor in a fairly decent place for use. Unfortunately the boom crutch stops some movement and the motor head when in this position fouls the main sheet line a bit more than I would like. The electrical plug is pretty well out of the way.
